This is the archive of Asking Out Ms. Leanne Beaton by Manu | Mrityunjay, a Punjabi work of autofiction published as ਤੇ ਗੱਲ ਇਤ-ਥਾਂ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਸੀ.

The book moves between a Toronto foodbank kitchen, remembered places, conversations, animals, work, desire, philosophy, and the unstable machinery of remembering. It is written in Punjabi and English, with drawings, fragments, repetitions, interruptions, and other pieces of material that remain part of the work rather than sitting outside it.

The archive gathers the book, selected chapters, reading material, notes, images, and conversations around it. Some pages look toward the work from outside; others are closer to the book itself. The distinction is deliberately not always clean.

The site also records an ongoing encounter between writing and machines. About This Chapter section has been produced with, by, or through conversations with, language models (in RED font) Read Critical_Reading_Instructions_CRI. These machine readings are not presented as authoritative explanations of the book. They are another layer of the archive: sometimes useful, sometimes strange, sometimes wrong.

Manu | Mrityunjay writes in Punjabi and English. The archive continues to change as the work is read, printed, remembered, misread, and returned to.
